Venue Details:

Welcome to Monkhall Fishery, you will find the Fishery in 27 acres of beautiful Shropshire countryside in between Bridgnorth and Craven Arms.

Under new ownership since may 2013, a lot of time and money has been put into the fishery to get it where it deserves to be.

A warm welcome awaits you at Monkhall, there is a cafe that opens on a Sunday for matches.

The on-site cafe, serves hot food, hot and cold drinks, and is open every match day, and for club bookings any day of the week if requested.

For £6 you get 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 eggs, a ring of black pudding, a hash brown, plenty of beans and tomatoes, a cuppa, and as much bread and butter or toast as you like. Sandwich prices vary.

There is also a fisherman's toilet on the house, with hot and cold running water.

The fishery aims to hold matches on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday (over 50's), and Thursday (costcutter).

The fishery asks anglers to book on for Opens

KEEPNETS IN MATCHES ONLY From 13/10/14

NOBODY is to enter the pools before or after the fishery opening time of 7.30am and 7.30pm. Afternoon matches by special arrangement. This is because of the electric fences in operation outside of the opening hours listed to control vermin. Anybody found doing so will be asked to leave promptly, and is not the responsibility of the fishery.

NO defacing or altering the fences.

Please close fence gates behind you (this does not apply to the fishery gate)

Persons and belongings are on site at your risk.

All visitors must visit the house/cafe, to pay their ticket and collect their nets.
Fishery Keep Nets and landing nets only (club organizers are held responsible for theft or damage of fishery nets. Please treat them as you would want someone to if they used yours!)
No stink bags to be used

Barbless hooks, maximum size = 12
No Braid
Feeder and bomb rigs, must be free running with no stops or shot above the rig
No Floating Baits
Pole rigs must have a float
Two nets must be used splitting fish evenly between both. For numerous reasons, keep nets are no longer allowed for pleasure fishing and are for matches only. If you want a knock up of 5 pegs or more then you may use the nets (fishery nets only)
No handling fish in rags or towels
No litter (please use bins provided!)
Bait Rules

Permitted feed baits are:

Fishery Feed Pellets Only
Maggots
Casters
Worms (Maximum 1kg – Clean)
Corn
Hemp (allowed since December 7th 2013, not printed on current flyers)
Any other feed baits are not allowed, but you can use anything on the hook.

As from Monday 9 June, you can make your paste from ground bait, or powdered mixes (but no form of meat paste).

However you cannot feed paste any longer as this would be classed as feeding ground bait which is not allowed. Please do not abuse this rule change as it has been made to benefit the angler, by abuse i mean purposely striking paste off to feed the swim.

We will monitor this rule change, but be warned if it is abused then paste will not be allowed full stop, so its down to you as the angler to stick to it.
Anybody breaking the rules will not be weighed in, bait checks will be undertaken randomly and no exceptions will be made.
There will be no arguing after, the rules are clear and here to read
