JUST BEEN LOOKING AT THIS TOPIC ON ANOTHER SITE
i think its a interesting point of view and has quite a lot anglers replying it might not be our cup of tea but what do you all think about it
Bonus peg at commercial fishery
Is it now the right of owner to dictate how that money is paid back ..?? Should the anglers who pay in have a legitimate right to clearly see the balance every day. ?? Should the bonus peg be structured in such away that it is possible for a winner to actually win a decent chunk of it. ?? Or ?? Is it alright now for commy owners to hang on to substantial sums of anglers money and then decide to use it to promote their fishery. ????? If a man in a working mans club behaved like that with the lads money I think he it might be said that he had rude attitude and behaviour. ! He might be called something stronger ! Come on lads get off the fence, and give us some honest opinions!
who ever is true blue is has some good points

i think in all honesty that the fee should be split 50/50 with the anglers. this way there is some money going back to the lake and there is always a chance of a better chunk going into the pot. the local pond near me that has weekly matches and a summer and winter league and a midweek evening match in the summer always go 50/50 so the league has an ok prize at the end of it and the stand alone matches can be alrite depending on how many people turn up. also the winter league he does put in 70 and he takes 30% as the lake is virtually deserted so its better than a kick in the nads.
how much is a fair charge though?? seeing as some day tickets allow dawn til dusk etc and the matches certainly aint the same length as that in the summer

It has always made me wince when match anglers double up at some commercials - fishing a day match then staying on to fish an evening match, paying two peg fees when a day ticket angler would only pay one peg fee for the day...

gale there is a match on the little witham every Wednesday and they have a bonus peg and its quite protected as a few seasons ago angler would just turn up to try and win the bonus peg
now if you don't fish regularly you cant take part in the bonus peg unless you pay up the same amount as others ie £2 x how many matches they have fished if its £30 you are entitled to fish it stopped all the money grabbers for entering the matches
and the 30 regular anglers all have a chance and if its not won they split it on the last match
this to me is the best way and it looks after your regulars

yeah this to me is bad, but i will admit even tho the fella that runs the local commercial is the biggest tightest money grabber going he is fair with the match anglers as they ARE there week in week out some times 3 times a week so he does tend to just let them fish on only thing he asks is to take your nets out the water so every one else dont try using them around the place. He used to let you leave them in but i actually saw 2 fellas on the specimin lake chuck 2 20lb plus carp in a keep net then continue to fill it with anything else they caught off the top. all because they see the match anglers using thier nets.

yeah see this is an alrite idea. like you say keeps people happy and keeps things fair. commercial near me cant do that as there are 20 anglers one day 40 the next and he is an ass and wont chuck the day tickets off the match lake if they are there before and you turn up he tells them to stay where they are and just removes the balls from the bag accordingly. But he will move people if there aint enough pegs for the match boys. but he will not stop people fishing the peg next to you even tho they are only 10 meters apart. so once you have plumbed up and fed your margin this little gobshite comes along drops a ledger and boilie + a handfull of pellet and ground bait then ruins that swim for the rest of the session for ya.
bloody hate the place
