Went fishing on Saturday over at Millbarn, first time out this year as the weather seemed a bit warmer - fished the canal and did alright. Got back home at about 6:30pm and didn't bother to unload the car as it was dark and I wanted my tea but would do it first thing in the morning
Went out to my car the next morning to discover that some low-life had broken into my car and nicked my rod holdall which contained my pole, 4 top kits, a feeder rod and baitrunner reel, umbrella, landing net, rod rests etc. etc. which is gonna cost about £400-500 to replace. Hopefully my insurance will pay but nothing is certain. As usual the police, although interested, could do nothing. Lets hope I can be up and running for the first Marsh match!

Graham.
I'm still in the process of sorting out Dads gear. Give me a ring as I'm sure I've got some stuff that will help you out.

Graham - terrible news. A very good friend of mine suffered a similar fate when his car was nicked and after they (whoever they were) had had their fun torched his car with his gear still in it. He is currently arguing with insurers.

Hopefully the insurance company will pay out, however be prepared for a fight.
If i can help in any way with gear to get you back on the bank let me know.

Thanks for all your kind words. Well I've now submitted my insurance claim and have to wait and see what they offer in settlement. Depending on how much they offer depends on how much I have to spend. Following is a list of what was knicked and therefore what I'm looking to replace so if anyone, in addition to Dave and Keith, has any unwanted gear they would be prepared to sell me I would be very grateful:
Pole
feeder rod & baitrunner reel
spinning rod
specimen landing net
landing net handle
fishing umbrella
rod rests/bank sticks
rod holdall
Obviously the most important, and of course costly, is getting a replacement pole.
Cheers,
Graham

Hi Al,
Thanks but I've pretty much replaced all my stolen gear now.
Cheers anyway
