What are we really eating ?
100% horse meat now found in well known branded ready meals in all major supermarkets . This now seems the tip of the iceberg , how long has this been really going on ?

Horse Meat , What .....
Probably some while.
Can't help thinking though that apart from the fact something shouldn't be labelled what it isn't and someone has clearly been pulling a fast one...
no one has said people are likely to be ill.
It's meat, just like lamb or beef or whatever. Ok, it shouldn't have happened and now we're on the case, but all the hysteria ? Don't get it myself.

NO SHADOW OF A SPROUT
Sandal fanciers rocked by food scandal
VEGETARIANS were reeling in horror, after it was revealed that a top supermarket’s ‘Root Vegetable Mash’ had been found to contain traces of brussel sprouts.
Lifelong vegetarian Alison Bartlett said: ‘this news is absolutely shocking. Just because a person is vegetarian, it does not mean that they have to like brussel sprouts. They have as much right to loathe and detest them as any other part of society.
‘They are a brassica for heaven’s sake!
‘Finding them in foodstuffs where they have no place, and are not a labelled ingredient, is very distressing.
‘It could bring back childhood memories of cruel parents trying to “hide” hated food items amongst others. Of virtually force feeding children. Of unsympathetic potty training. Of self harming, of substance abuse…’
Arthur Shave, a spokesman for the supermarket chain, confirmed that there were no health issues involved in this latest food scandal, but did concede that there were social concerns.
‘Anecdotally, brussel sprouts are rated right up there with beans and peas as having potential to cause trouble in the trouser department.
‘Certainly they are known to add a certain bass note to the complex perfume of the average air biscuit, that makes them difficult to miss in a confined, or even not so confined space.
‘Fortunately, making such a social gaffe in the company of large numbers of friends, is not likely to be a problem for most vegetarians.’
Raflesia Tweed of Vegans Aloud said: ‘this does not concern us.
‘In fact, I am outraged that you even asked.
‘This shows the ignorance of society as a whole, and indolent, lazy, sensation seeking journalists in particular.
‘Root Vegetable Mash’ contains dairy products, and is therefore NOT a vegan suitable product.
‘What you should be investigating is the ongoing scandal of vegans, and I include myself amongst them, who regularly drink their own urine, only to discover that it has been contaminated by someone elses.’
