Inbetweeny Grueller

Arrived at the draw at 8-30 to find Mick E and Trev waiting. Drizzling with a howling wind, so on Cotties arrival we had a walk to see where the wind was kindest. Decided the best place would be by the car park as the wind would be off our backs.Got back to the cars and Tricast had arrived, informing us that the instigater of this add on match, MBK, wasn't coming as it was too wet and windy for him . With only 5 of us there, it was easy to peg out and everyone got a reed bed or brambles opposite. Just before the off, the heavens opened and stayed open for the next 3 hours Talk about "grueller weather". At least it was mild. I had a few early on the punch, but they were tiny, as were the fish on the joker. I had flirted a few casters over, and a few down the track. First put in down the track and a dumpy little 3 ouncer, followed by a 2 oz perch. Then nothing for 5 minutes so tried the caster over. Same result, 2 fish then nothing again. Kept trying all my lines til the end, having a little run of fish, then no bites. There were pike about, as there were several striking regularly between me and Cottie
Anyway, heres the scores on the doors:
Peg 1 Tricast 4-1-3
Peg 2 Trev 0-7-10
Peg 3 Mick E 5-5-2
Peg 4 MrV 3-8-5
Peg 5 Cottie 3-3-2
Well done Mick E on your first visit to the stretch. Proved you don't need W & J, just the humble maggot Plenty of fish on this stretch, so to echo the thoughts of all 5 here today.......can we go back next week Boss Man
