to avoid conflicting with the team fishing poll - I'd really appreciate your thoughts on this thread please.
My perception is that the majority of anglers fishing natural venue matches still use micro-barbed hooks - I know that I do in most circumstances, and most "recommendations" on web forums or magazines seem to be barbed patterns.
Is my perception correct or not?
For info my hook portfolio is
B512 (24)
b560 (16-20)
Drennan fine match (18-22)
Drennan super carbon maggot (18-24)
Tubertini series 2 (bronzato and opaco) (16-22)
Kamasan b611 (16-22)
Drennan Carbon feeder (16-22)
Kammy Animal eyed (14, 16)
forged crystal size 12 for choppy
original 90340 (only barbless pattern I use) (20,22)
No need for long justifications or reasoning if you don't want to - I'm mainly trying to find out if I've got blinkers on!!
thanks in advance

Read somewhere that a barbless hook will twist in the fishes mouth, causing more damage that a barbed hook. More so big fish hooks.
B511,
B611
Wiskerbarb,
Green Gamma,
Au lion d'or for Joker.
Then some sort of meat hook for the "dark side"
All barbed.
Where allowed.

Is it me or are the more recent IM1's more brittle !! I know I can be a bit heavy handed but I have broke a lot of these this year. They have now been regulated to scratching days as they still are the sharpest around !!!
My other hooks are :
drennan polemaster 16,18,20 for hemp (just bronze version of B511).
B511 16,18,20 for bread and hemp if not spooky !!
B611 12,14 worm (mainly canal).
B711 11,13,15,17 worm.
B510 20, 22. float maggot, winter.
B520 18,20, 22. maggot summer/ winter, mainly feeder for roach, chub.
drennan wide gape power 10,12,18,20 mainly for eels lob tails and maggots.
drennan specimen barbel eyed for barbel fishing !!! 10,12,14's for hair rigging.
green gama's 20's, drennan polemaster 22's, im1's 20,22,24's and B590's 18,20,22,24's for squatt/blood/pinkie work
As You can see from the list I have a few patterns and it would have been more if I had included my darkside collection !!!!!! ( Don't tend to use em anymore !)

I think the breaking issue is more to do with perch and there boney mouths etc rich.
Delicate bread fishing for small silvers and skimmers ive had no issues whatsoever except from them being so sharp and hooking my fingers !!!!!

shark hooks - I've got a packet of im1's in a 28!!
I think - the turquoise packs are the original ..... the orange ones are from after the takeover by Future.
From answers so far .... it looks like my perception is right - that we still mainly used barbed hooks.
FWIW .... KA lambasted me on another forum for using them .... but then he always was an opinionated so & so.
River match cancelled today - so I'm catching up on jobs at home - have to help out at the in-laws tomorrow so no fishing til next weekend :(
