Spoke to him tonight ! He did fish a home international Alex but I do agree with you, he is and has been at the top for nearly 40 years and no sign of letting off. I enjoy our chats cos when I say white He say's black !!!!!
He always say's he makes it up as he goes along !! do not be fooled as He always, Always knows the score and up to date info !!!! He is one of the best who has done it all and won nearly everything. He is very modest and always beats his self up if he thinks he has a bad match (in His opinion !). He did do tonight !! The bloke is a legend, end of.

I'm still beating myself up about the fact that he managed to turn my day one 4lb peg on the Burton festival this year in to a 10lb peg on day two!
People often talk about Dave H as the best river angler around, but I would contend that Swinno is at least as good .... and he's good on drains and no mug on canals.
I remember drawing next to him on the Ouse at kempston back in 1999 ..... out and out far bank waggler chub pegs. He fished a beautiful match within inches of the far bank reeds and took the mickey all day as I trundled my rig a rod or more out from the far bank. Mind you - I did land all the fish I hooked, unlike the 3 chub of his that made sanctuary in those reeds!!
A week later I drew a shallow peg on the Ouse at Olney .... on a cold frosty day as well. Half way through Wayne wandered up and exclaimed from 50 yards away ...... "do you EVER draw a bad peg Alex!!!!!". 5 chub in the first hour on the long pole .... it was a flier!
