Fossdyle league announsed

Big turnouts expected on popular canal series.
The dates have been announced for this years Fossdyke Saturday Series. The league always proves popular, attracting anglers from miles around to enjoy the excellent winter sport on offer.
League organiser, Alan Henry, said: “Although turnouts were good last year, because of the distance that a lot of anglers travel to fish the matches, some anglers complained that the league had too many rounds. I have taken this into account this year, booking just four rounds, all taking place before Christmas. I have also tried to spread the dates out, so that there is a gap in between each fixture.
The canal fished really well last year, with all roach nets to over 20lb, as well as plenty of the Fossdykes famous big perch- and from what I hear sport has been good through the summer. I think we can look forward to some really good fishing again this winter.”
For anglers wanting a taster of the sport they can expect, the Fossdyke Championship, which is run in memory of Lincoln’s Frank Butler, is taking place on the 7th October. Full details of all fixtures can be found below:
