FINAL ROUND SENSAS CHALLENGE

well from the response to the league half on the river and half on the canal everyone seams happy for it to go ahead next year ,again both venues fished well considering the weather over the last week with the beginning of autumn upon us with dropping temperatures and low clear venues .it was interesting to see a lot of new faces particular on the canal this can only be a good sign for the future, not forgetting the regulars which these sort of competitions could not run without there support .i'd like to thank the boat pub,loughborough soar and Quorn AS for there help and support and a special thanks to Brian hull who behind the scenes has kept the river pegs in order.
The river first and again the low numbers seamed to be the place to draw and making no mistakes of a good draw Mark godfrey of Leicester sensas Mark from the start caught skimmers roach and perch after balling in G/B at 13metres the fish soon respond to his red maggot hook bait and mark enjoyed the rest of the day ending up with a creditable 22lb 14oz for first place 2nd Rob parker of Leicester sensas sat it out for big fish and was rewarded with a brace of tench and some bites for 11lb 15oz 3rd went to Roger marlow of Leicester sensas again Roger enjoyed catching small fish skimmers and roach for most of the day and ended up with 8lb 5oz 4th Tom pringle Wigston AS 7lb 6oz the lowest 5 peg section weight was 5lb 8oz
The canal section
well Pete scott Leicester sensas made it two out two on the canal but Pete didn't have it all his own way,on arrival at his peg a boat had moored right a cross and a decision had to be made where Pete had to move pegs [it happens] still Pete was not put off by this and made no mistake in catching a total of 9lb 2oz of roach on caster Pete normally fishes squatts but found caster was the best bait of the day and so did most of the anglers on the canal 2nd Andy cooper Matlock a new face on the canal andy weighed in 7lb 10oz of roach from the duke of york section 3rd Barry jones Leicester sensas with a fine small fish catch of 7lb 4oz 4th mick wain 6lb 13oz again the lowest section weight was 4lb
on the team front it was the the turn of Leicester sensas B to take first place Barry jones ,Mark russel,Joe roberts Steve hurst Lee morley and Rob parker all put a consistent performance in to win the day
