Star names flock to World Pairs Cup

The prize fund for this weeks Lakeland & Inland Waterways World Pairs Cup has risen once again, with the news that Daiwa are sponsoring the individual championship to the tune of £10,000 worth of tackle!

This takes the total prize value over the £130,000 mark- in a competition where the winning pair will scoop £30,000 and even the 18th pair will be paid out £1,000!

As you might expect, demand for places has been massive, with anglers from Australia, Brazil, Germany, Holland France, and Belgium taking part. In total, 132 pairs will be taking fishing, meaning that 264 anglers will be pegged on several of Irelands Loch systems and waterways around Enniskillen.

Such high prize money has seen the event attract the interest of anglings elite, with names such as Bob Nudd, Kevin Ashurst, Tommy Pickering, Wayne Swinscoe, Kieron Rich, Simon Willsmore, Darren Davies and Matt Hall all taking part.

Fishing starts on Monday 10th September, and runs until Friday 14th. For information on who is leading, check out the result updates at:

With three days of competition left, everything is still to play for though and just a couple of big weights could push any pair into contention for the £30,000 top prize.
