Could be the nene back of thrapston gravel pits, not sure though but it does look similar.

Not the Trent, but a gravel pit, controlled by Derby AA (well it was back in 1992, might still be.....) - bout 5miles west of Shardlow

All the fish used to gather in this corner of Swarkestone gravel pit during the winter.
The gravel workings are not there any more , they used to run alongside Ingleby Lane by the River Trent.
Swadlincote DAA now own the fishing rights , mainly huge carp + Bream in there now.
