The time is coming to retire me old maver medussa j soon.
So what to have next?
Whilst browsing in local tackle shop saw a Maver Armageddon 16 meter and have found a Maver Match This 3 Plus 16 meter package
has anyone any views on these or any suggestions
for a replacement package around the £700/£800 mark.

I'd have a look at one of the MAP TKS poles. I've bought an older TKS40 secondhand and really like it for the money.
It would make me look at one of their latest if I was looking for a new pole. TKS 425 or 525 in that price range. Top kits very reasonable too.

Do you need that 16 mtrs KOD?
If not, have you thought about having a look at the Shimano Exages (14.5m) - plus you should save a couple of hundred quid in the process - there's a few Cashmores Crew got them

Maver Elite Carp 14.5m is a fantastic pole if you dont need 16m matey.
Ians Tackle is doing them at a good price too
With the dolly Butt and the long top kits it aint far of 16m anyway.
I used mine on the cut the other week and it was brilliant with the light match kits on at 13m.

Agree with MarkV. Have had a TKS 10 and now have a 325. Good alround pole with cheap spares. Got mine from Ovation Leisure in Tyseley, where if you buy the pole they'll elasticate all your top kits free and a top 3/ power kit was £25. might be £30 now not to sure. But good service.

Do not get a maver
Care to elaborate
I have had Mavers for over ten years now and never had a problem with them, apart from user error and wind damage

Do not get a maver
This is the sort of post that appears far to frequently on forums and is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.
I've been using Mavers for the last 10 years and would happily have another when the time comes.

Poles really are a personal thing, - it's like asking a golfer what make of golf clubs he uses.
I bought a Fox Envoy ten years ago, you hardly ever see any others about. If I remember right it cost about £1200 with loads of spares, might not have been that much, - not sure.
I believe Fox stopped them last year at £3999
- it was then the Envoy Elite but basically the same pole.
I still use mine on a weekly basis and it goes to Ireland with me every time I go.
Obviously it don't suit all or there would be more of them about but if anyone knows of any spare sections about give me a call because they are getting hard to get

Id look at Daiwa, from G8 upwards, solid stiff poles, do anything, loads of them about so spares never an issue, and kits all interchange through the top end with Daiwa, so if youi change poles, keep your kits and buy pole only deals.

Howdy Snake
Welcome to SMF - quite a bit of 'cut talk' on here so you should feel at home
Back to topic subject - thought you might have suggested KOD tries to talk me into selling him one one of my Futrons or Tectrons ;)

I know Snake
Hope he did you a good deal
Gorra a couple of Mactrons too, although non of my DAMs probably get the number of outings they deserve, I'm relectant to sell and would rather keep a spare un in the loft just incase of any disasters, cuss as you'll appreciate, spares are dead hard to come by
Having said that did get offered another Futron a few months back off another DAM 'collector', but declined it as I thought the two that I've got would more than likely 'see me out'
