I've just heard that Ted Stokes has died. As many will no doubt know, one of angling's true gentlemen.

R.I.P. Ted
I fished with Ted for many years in the 1990s and he was one of the most respected and nicest people you could meet.
He was also one of the best Trent anglers ever in my opinion.
He was the captain of the Daiwa Trentmen match team and Nottingham Federation team.
He asked me to fish for the team in 1991 / 92 and it was a real honour to fish with such talented anglers that Ted looked after.
The year after I joined we won the Div 1 National on the Trent with a squad that included :-
Pete Palmer
Steve Clark
Jan Porter
Dennis Bonner
Steve Wolstenholme
Roy Henson
Jim Meakin
Steve Draper
All great anglers but Ted was a true legend.
