Dynamite Bait Festival

Day Three

Last night saw an evening of torrential rain and string winds with a lot of cold water going in to the lakes and the weather did not get much better for the whole of the day.

The mid point of the festival can be the start of a decider for some, if they already have good results the can see the finish but for others another bad result can see them out of it. The lake winners today receive an added bonus of winning a free holiday to come back and fish winners' week.

Read on for the action from day three and find out if we have anglers still on maximum points.

A Section Twin Oaks/Trelawney

It was a tougher day on both lakes today with the bad weather having a knock on affect, it was even more wind dominated on Twin Oaks with the fish being driven to the far end of the lakes on the low side, the weights were spread out across the high side but not as big as iN previous days. Although the weights were slightly down on Trelawney it was close when it came to the points. James Holmes took the lake win today on Twin Oaks peg 14, James caught on the bomb & pellet and method feeder with pellet and weighed in with 140lb 15oz. Matt Drayton weighed in with 114lb 3oz to take second, Matt was on Twin Oaks peg 16 and caught on the method with micros and banded 6 mil pellet and on the pellet waggler. Ben Fisk was on Trelawney peg 32 and weighed in with 102lb 5oz to take third, Ben caught long down the margins on meat and on the method feeder. Tim Dabrowa was on Twin Oaks peg 18 and had the next best weight with 92lb 13oz, Tim caught on the method feeder with dead maggot.

Section Winners

James Holmes(TO) peg 4 9 points 140lb 15oz
Ben Fisk(T) peg 32 9 points 102lb 5oz
Ben Holmes(TO) peg 27 9 points 71lb 14oz
Kieron Rich(T) peg 2 9 points 58lb 8oz

B Section Porth

After a terrible day and night of weather Porth has really taken a turn for the worse with the hardest day of the festival so far for the anglers on this venue today. Neil Machin on peg 16 was the lake winner; Neil caught 50 yards out on the groundbait feeder with corn for a weight of 12lb 12oz. Second with 10lb 4oz was Kerry Kirkwood, Kerry was on peg 88 and caught on the feeder with maggots. Tony Curd peg 39 9 points 7lb 4oz

C Section Bolingey

It was a slightly harder day on Bolingey as is always the case on this lake when a lot of cold water goes in. Andy Forbes on peg 18 was today's lake winner with 123lb, Andy caught on the method feeder with micros and meat & double red maggot on the hook. Pete Goodman weighed in with 116lb to take second, Pete caught on the pellet feeder from peg 16. Dynamite Bait Festival

Day 4

Still a very very cold start to the day with the temperature not rising much throughout the course of the match, a harsh wind is still lingering about but fortunately today we have escaped any rain.

At the end of the day we might have a clearer picture as to our leading front runners, are we going to see a shake up at the top after today's match results, read on for the latest results.

A Section Porth

.Despite a slight colour being in the lake it is still fishing hard and those anglers that are getting a few bites have been plagued with pike, perseverance is the key and the anglers fishing for bites faired better than those that just went all out for bream. Martyn Howard won the lake today with 9lb 15oz; Martyn Howard was on peg 89 and caught on the feeder with chopped worm. Callum Dicks was on peg 19 and was second with 9lb 5oz, Callum caught on the long pole with worm. Third went to Steve Conway, Steve caught on the feeder with worm and pinkie from peg 39 to weigh in with 8lb 1oz. On peg 79 Leigh Hodgkinson had the next best weight with 7lb 3oz, Leigh caught on the feeder with worm.

Section Winners

Martyn Howard peg 89 9 points 9lb 15oz
Callum Dicks peg 19 9 points 9lb 5oz
Steve Conway peg 39 9 points 8lb 1oz
Leigh Hodgkinson peg 79 9 points 7lb 3oz

B Section Bolingey

It was also a harder day on Bolingey with the cold weather still making the fishing hard, there were reasonable weights across the sections but there were not as many good back up weights. The lake winner today with 157lb 3oz was Paul Holland on peg 17, Paul caught on the method with pellet. On peg 45 Jon Arthur weighed in with 128lb 1oz to take second, Jon caught on the long pole shallow and the long pole down the edge with pellet. Richie Hull was third; Richie was on peg 23 and caught on the method, down the edge and at 5 meters for a weight of 112lb 4oz. On peg 18 Lee Thornton had the next best weight with 111lb 12oz, Lee caught on the method and long pole.

Section Winners

Paul Holland peg 17 9 points 157lb 3oz
James Dent peg 3 9 points 82lb 6oz
Andy Nelson peg 44 9 points 80lb
Steve Shepherd peg 11 9 points 73lb 2oz

C Section Pollawyn

It was a slightly better day on Pollawyn and although there were not many stand out weights it was more consistent across the sections with it being fair and very close when it came down to points. The wind played a key part with the anglers in certain areas managing to land a few bonus carp but in other areas there was not a carp to be seen. The lake winner today was Andy Leather on peg 45, Andy caught on pellet shallow on the long pole across to the reeds for a weight of 114lb 15oz. Second with 108lb was Dean Smith, Dean caught on the pellet waggler with 8 mil pellet from peg17. Shaun Barnett on peg 26 weighed in with 91lb 13oz to take third, Shaun caught on the method with 8 mil pellet. Marvellous Mark Harris on peg 20 had the next best weight with 74lb 7oz, Mark caught on the method with 6 mil pellet

Section Winners

Andy Leathers peg 45 9 points 114lb 15oz
Dean Smith peg 17 9 points 108lb
Shaun Barnett peg 26 9 points 91lb 13oz
Alan Scotthorne peg 9 9 points 60lb 1oz

D Section Jennys/Trewaters

There were a few good weights from these lakes today but for some it did fish slightly harder but even though the weights were down across all four sections in some cases only a couple of pounds made the difference when it came to the crucial points. On Jennys peg 15 Andy Geldart took today's lake win with 99lb 5oz, Andy caught on the method feeder with pellet. Johnny Maddison took second with 85lb 6oz; Johnny was on Trewaters peg 21 and caught on the pellet feeder. Third was Rod Finch, Roc caught on the method with pellet from Jennys peg 8 for a weight of 69lb 10oz. Stewart Bracey was on Trewaters peg 19 and had the next best weight with 62lb 5oz, Stewart caught mainly in the margins with chopped worm.

Section Winners

Andy Geldart peg 15(J) 9 points 99lb 5oz
Johnny Maddison peg 21(T) 9 points 85lb 6oz
Rod Finch peg 8(J) 9 points 69lb 10oz
Jon Gray peg 43(T) 9 points 52lb 15oz

E Section Twin Oaks/Trelawney

This was one of the better matches today with good weights coming from all four sections across the two lakes, the winning weights were good and it was very close for the back up weights. On Twin Oaks peg 16 Marc Illingworth weighed in with 174lb 10oz to take the lake win, Mark caught on the method over and on meat at 5 meters. Second was Nick Jones, Nick caught on the pellet feeder and at 5 meters on meat from Trelawney peg 28 for a weight of 97lb 7oz. Peter Steward on Twin Oaks peg 23 was third, Peter weighed in with 89lb 2oz and caught on the method feeder and pole down the edge. Nick Jones peg 28 9 points 96lb 7oz
