As I have a relation very close to me with what sounds like the same condition, (hopefully) there is a fair chance it can be 'controlled'.

My mother has this and although she has to live in a care home she will be 90 this year

She has had this condition for a good number of years now.

Can't help wondering though, just how effective some clubs health screening set ups are in light of recent events

don't matter how good any clubs screening is, not all screening will pick every thing up before it happens.
