The first 3 pegs from the bridge, on the church wall, were always renowned Roach pegs. Seen some brilliant winter weights off there. The couple of pegs where the boat is moored on the start of the bend were always solid with pongos. Go past the boat and you start on the brambles and rush beds over, which again were superb hemp pegs for Roach.
I think Julie Abbot won the ladies national from one of those (sure Bill will confirm if it was julie).
Dazzlers Lobworm peg is about 15 or 16 pegs down from the bridge towards the power station.
I love this stretch of the cut as the variety of pegs is excellent, however, come the summer, its not for the feint hearted with the boat traffic ::)

Memory may be up the shoot a bit now but I think it was Linda Cooke and Rita Bell, they were first and second, next to one another on that far reedbed. They both had proper decent roach on caster, then again Julie Abbot could have one of them.
I know I spent the day there with my old Nikon; got some top pics but somehow the film was split all the way along. I spotted it taking it out and just had time to snap the first two with their roach catches and the Presentation afterwards, - that was nearly a waste of a day.
I still have that old Nikon F1, it is almost mint and must be worth a few bob. Original lens and spare lens, flash and all, anybody know what it is worth, never seen one in that condition on E Bay before? ::) ::) ::)
