well what a difference a week makes
last week breaking ice
and after hour it looked like this
then a week later its like this
with walking the bank Saturdays afternoon a few changes were needed to be made to my orginal plans so armed with to large spray paints the job was done
the new section that we haven't used in opens yet the club anglers have used was staples the picture below shows it runs past 260 h/plant hire beyond the bridge i soon sprayed 10 pegs down there
Aaron had joined me after a mornings chub fishing up at the scrapyard section 3 chub to 3lb and a 2lb perch not bad for a mornings fishing
anyway we carried on walking down to the swingbridge section and a good job i did as the pegging had been changed a little more than i thought ;)we even sprayed a few more pegs in to finish right at the top of the section when we finished we started to see odd fish topping so i thought to myself i wonder if we started later we might catch a few fish in the last hour
so what did we wake up to a frost
i didn't think it was that bad as i arrived at the pub the canal looked good
but from that point it sort of went pearshaped
one pair didn't show and three others didn't have partners
anyway we with the draw out of the way i'd drawn 258 h/plant hire as shown in the photo my section only had four anglers in it and all four of us were what i would call good silverfish pegs .perry hubbard was on the end peg then me and to my left steve hurst and lee morley
the weather was good and the banter second to none and just before the start all three of them were behind my peg checking for joker all of us seamed pretty keen and even though we had no B/J the bait trays looked good
what happened over the next five hours isn't really worth talking about
but all i'l say is i feed a punch line for the whole five hours and a caster and hemp line along with my choppy lines i never had a bit from a silverfish nor abite on caster or bread i eneded up with 7 perch all begining to show bellies full of sprawn for 2lb9oz being beaten by lee morley with 13 perch for 3lb 11oz 2nd in the section of four
