Ha ha , I remember that Choppy.
That was in an angling times winter league practice match when I fished for Trentmen at Hallcroft.
I drew a good peg on the Moat where I could cast to an aereator.
I was catching carp on the bomb and one cast I had what I thought was a line bite. The tip kept going round slowly and I kept backwinding until I hit the clip on the reel.
So I thought I'd better reel in and a fish was on.
It was a Bream of about 6lb and I'd hooked the eye of a swivel on a swimfeeder that somebody had broken off on and the bait fron the feeder rig was still on the hook in the Breams mouth !
How lucky was that.
In the winter league the following week I was blanking with a few minutes to go and then I had a similair “bite” to the week before. This time I hooked the eye of a swivel on a arlesly bomb that was attached to a carp ! That was very lucky !

Here's a funny story for you, a mate of mine is on a match somewhere and the bloke next peg is fishing the pole, this bloke hooks a fish and his top 4 comes off on the way back and so it starts to travel into the middle of the lake, he picks up his bomb rod to chuck over the rig and first chuck hits the section bang in the middle, lol, he sed it just exploded never to be seen again, loved to of seen that.
