That's Topper Haskins top right shakin the bubbly, Did Pete Sivell fish ? Was that bloke with the beard ----- Hill (Think he died years ago, not that old).
I might remember a few names but to be honest a little early for me (14 at the time !).
Would be interested if anybody does know

I would imagine Mike Jones would be in there somewhere - big name in that area around that time.

The name Mike Jones may not mean a lot to the present day match angler but from the mid 1960s to the early 1990s he was as good as anyone and more successful than most at any style of fishing.

In those days, match anglers travelled much further afield - fishing varied venues and becoming more adaptable. This resulted in Mike fishing regularly with the likes of the late great, Ivan Marks and the Likely Lads culminating in him winning the prestigious Peterborough Hospital Cup on the River Nene and beating some 500 other anglers to do so.

There were many more individual wins and national and local team honours with Bathampton and City of Bristol (now sadly no more) year after year and on rivers, lakes and canals - as well as many years serving the sport as a Bathamptomn committee member, vice-chairman, chairman and match secretary for which he was rightly honoured with Life Membership.

Now he’s back; he has tasted success again so watch out! Will he be branching out on the local match scene or will he be content to stay with the Bathampton “Old Timers” and reminisce about the “good old days”?
There will be more than a few waiting with interest.
Perhaps at 65 he’s too old; who knows? (Ha! Ha! That will wind him up if nothing else does!)

bathhampton now sponserd by maver are still a top team and compete in our super league,they came second in the div 2 national last year so will be one of the favorites on there home water this year

EAST ANGLIAN KNOCKOUT CUP

Bathampton AA made it a great season for the South West Clubs then they won the East Anglian Knockout Tournament.

Against the odds, Bathamption defeated favourites from Lincoln in the final, held on Walter Bowers North Muskham stretch of the River Trent, near Newark, to win the £5000 event, sponsored by East Anglian Rod Company.

Early heats were held at local level within the eight NFA Regions and once a small nucleus of surviving teams was left from an original entry of more than 100 teams, the ties were fished on a national basis - involving some squads in major expeditions across the length and breadth of the country, to fish at venues new to them.
