i think there used to be a plaque just up the bonk to commemorate a bloke who died whilst fishing there that area is just a big slack now during floods while back it shifted all the gravel and its crap now the glee peg is just a local nickname from years ago when all you had to do was underarm a pig a rodlength out and theyd pull the bugger in when i was about 5 this would be around 1992 my grandad fished the peg all day on the feeder for just two chub when he was packing up a yorkshireman jumped in the peg waded out so he see round the bush put the float down and proceded to hook a dozen barbel in about half an hour ............ and lose every one funny how you remember days on the river from years ago yet cant remember a month ago on the puddles learnt alot about barbel bashing as a kid of me uncle sid wilkes Image

Should have checked our match records out - yep we fished it back in 2005 and had pegs 97 - 120, with 97 (I think) being either just upstream of the bridge or by the bridge.

Think Cotti drew that flyer on our match Image

Peg 98 was always known as the pipe and had a channel 2 thirds out from the kdaa bank, good to catch fish on waggler on a low river but if you had people fishing the opposite bank was ruined. Not been there for a few years now but used to love it. Image
