lots of anglers would like to see the summer league back this year ::)but i thought that last year. so i thought if we are going to run one this summer what do the anglers want
its was suggested that 8 rounds is to many correct
drop commercials
:-/thats one to talk about
river short and easy access ok we are looking into parking this year anyway
i will run the league and i think 4 rounds once a month should be about right this gives everyone plenty of time to do other things in the season
dates are what i really need and venues
17th june
15th july
12th aug
sept 16th
we have plenty of time so please air your thoughts
2 river 2 canal
or 4 individual venues
barston
canal
river
commie
what ever floats your boat

that's great news lloydy
quite a few are interested and have also shown interest in other competition ideas of a midland canal league
you just have to look suddenly the Trent/Mersey league has got 14 teams in it
it seams this could be the area that might grow in the future
and will be great if we can discuss it now rather than rush into it
my own personal problem is i still can't do every saturday
i'm going to give the barston masters a go this year though

Think our lads would prefer natural venues joff but thats just us.Barstons a nice place but i think weve been here before with the expense side of it ? and considering the current climate would be a no no.In fact no commies at all.
Just an opinion. 4 matches would be ample .

Depends on the interest and which part of the midlands are interested. If we go on the soar i would like to see us in a line at Sutton.I know its peggy where isnt, but someones got to draw on a few.Dams and lock ? Beeston Canal. And i would love to have one on the Newark Dyke but again its travelling. At the end of the day we all want to catch fish.
Like has been mentioned before most anglers are now of a similar age group and who knows where natural venue matches be in 15 years time.Im afraid we are a dying breed so lets enjoy what we have left as match anglers.
I dont think im being a doom and gloom merchant just a realist.Just my thoughts

Problem in midlands is there are too many commercials and if you haven't been bought up on natural venues why swap from no walks and big weights to dog sh!t, bikes and struggling

::) ::)negative negative negative we all know whats wrong .but while we are months a head of the summer lets be positive positive and try and get this off the grown
what we need it to turn the sport around a little to ensure those of us that are left get the best of both worlds a good match and catch fish. we all know even on commercials you can't bag up every week and its the same with natural venues
but if we pick the right venues at the right time of year we will give ourselves a really good change of getting it off the ground
most of us can say with ease i can't be bothered but its often when when you make the effert it turns out better than you think
4 venues 1 match a month for the first year i'm only interested in the midlands but would hope southern and northern could do something the same

Joff, how many would you expect on this cos the river round Shardlow is brilliant, there's Burton too.The walks aren't too bad and there's a fair amount of parking behind pegs.
I'd be interested in this if it was natural venues.

We would be looking at putting two teams in if possible?
Any firm dates/venues yet?
