Hartleylands Reservoir 15th October 2011

Just over 3 weeks now to our last outing of the year. For a change we have the Reservoir instead of Nicks lake.
We havent fished it for a number of years now but I dont think much has changed except the fish are a bit bigger.

Al least Clive will be happy as there is always a reasonable depth of water close in

Dont have a problem with you doing that but there will be exhaustive checks to make sure you dont hide any fish in it.

Now seeing as we havent fished it for a while I wonder if we need to undertake a fact finding mission next week. Purely to see what the pegging is like obviously.

Tuesday or Thursday would seem best. Anyone else want to sacrifice a day for the benefit of the other club members?

I feel that I may now be able to sacrifice a day of my valuable time to selflessly undertake a trip to check the venue for the benefit of the members. Thursday would be good.

Seeing these "Club Fact Finding Missions" are a bit new to you Peter I feel it is my duty to point out the sacrifices you will have to make for the sake of the membership.

As it is midweek the traffic and journey will be far worse than Club outings.
Jean and Kevin wont be there so no bacon butties or tea made for us. As a concession I will be taking my cooker so we can take turns making the tea.
There are no easy local breakfast facilities so we will have to make do with a homecooked pasty and Lemon Merangue pie from the farm shop at lunch time.

As the traffic is usually bad going home we will be forced to fish past our usual weigh in time to avoid it.
We will have to pay the full day ticket out of our own pockets even though we are there on behalf or the club. Despite many years of trying I have never been able to get our tightfisted Treasurer to contribute.

There you have it . I hope you still want to take part to assist the club.

As it's for the club Dave, I'm prepared to endure the hardship involved as I feel it unfair that you should carry the whole responsibility for this on your own.
