Make sure you book your place at Makins this winter. Warwickshire super fishery announces two new competitions for this Winter.

One of the biggest commercials in the country has announced two new match series for this winter.

Warwickshire’s Makins Fishery has revealed it will be running both a team series and a brand new silver fish competition before Christmas.

Dynamite Baits Winter League
Match dates: October 2, October 9, October 23, November 6, November 20 and November 27.

The Dynamite Baits Winter League will see teams of six anglers going head-to-head in six matches held over a 12 week period. For the matches the teams will be split up over the fishery’s three phases, with two anglers from each team competing on each phase.

Fishery boss Alan McDiarmid revealed that the prize for the winners will be at least £1000 with a huge supply of Dynamite Baits products also up for grabs

“Last year we ran teams of 12 in a similar event but that gave us too many matches to get in over the winter, especially with the big freeze we have meaning we couldn’t fish for a long time around Christmas,” said Alan. “This year having teams of six should make it a lot better. We’ve already got 12 teams confirmed and we’re hoping for plenty more to join before the start.
“All of the pools money that comes in will be going back out too, with anglers being able to win their money back within their sections which will be made up of around five anglers. This way there’s no pools fodder, just a good competition,” he added.

Silver Fish League
First Match November 5

Also running at Makins this winter will be a brand new silver fish league, consisting of four rounds.

“We’ve never done this before so it will be good to see how it goes,” continued Alan talking about the silver fish league. “The anglers competition in this one won’t fish the same lake twice, and I think three of the waters will be Lake One, Lizard and Lagoon as they all have a good head of silvers in them”.
