Woke up 5am on the morning hearing the rain absoluteley battering of my window.. And decided i wasent gonna go.. So fell back asleep woke up half hr later to see the rain had calmed down so up i got and chucked everything into the back of the car and off i toddled on my own this week as brother is starting work now! haha
Decided to fish the top peg along the common oppersite the stick ups.. All setup, 2 swims nearside shelf, And as close as i could get to the stick ups on the oppersite bank..
Frontside Swim
Decided to this stick to this swim when the rain was absoluteley hammering it down.. Tryed punch but nothing :( although i found that 'Sloppy Mixture' of bread bought them into the swim and i fed 1/4 of a cup every time i went dry for about 30minutes or so.
Farbank Swim
Fed this swim of maggots mixed with some slop ::)
So i got setup planned what i was going to do and started fishing my frontside swim whilst trickling in a few maggots over the other side with my catapult hitting the same spot everytime
Waited around 10minutes for the fish to start feeding and i had managed to catch 2 small perch straight after each other.. 3rd put in and the float didnt even have time to settle it just went.. a little tench!
straight back to that swim as quick as i could to see what else was roaming about.. Float starts to move and then GONE!
My elastic just goes... about 10ft of elastic come out the top end of my pole and im here sitting in the rain battling what ever was on the end.. about a 5-6minute fight decided it would pop off in a big underwater bush
Didnt even get time to see it so i have no idea what it could of been... Rain eased off and i moved onto my far bank swim next to the reeds.. it was around 11.5 metres away from where i was sitting.. my pole is 10m so i was using around an extra couple of foot to swing it out against the reeds.. it was a fish a chuck for the next 7-8 casts.. some small roach, biggest about 4oz..
So another 'OK' session on the cut, best ive done yet.. Hopefully next week(if i decide to go ) it will improve a bit more..

Nice one Josh - told you there were a few fish on that peg
That 'beastie' was probably a 'proper' tinca in the 5-7lb category as you managed to hang on to it for 5 mins - them carp just take off unless you are properly 'tooled up' for them
