Saturday 20th August will see 24 anglers go head-to-head on the Match Lake of the prolific Maver Larford Lake complex in Stourport-on-Severn, fishing for a guaranteed minimum prize fund of £50,000!

The event has secured media sponsorship from the Daily Mirror, taking the competition and angling in general to a new level of media awareness. Sky TV will also be present on the day of the final, filming the event.

Visitor attractions at the final will include comprehensive product displays presenting the very latest tackle innovations from Maver UK, a substantial number of high profile Maver anglers demonstrating their skills and offering advice on feeder and lead fishing, big waggler, pellet waggler and pole with pellet and paste fishing. Derek 'The Don' Ritchie will also be on hand to demonstrate the finer arts of specimen angling for carp. All of the Maver sponsored anglers can be seen actively catching fish and allowing the general public to 'have a go'.

As an additional attraction, former English World Champion super-middleweight boxer, Richie Woodhall, will be hosting the ‘Match This’ final event with a running commentary and interviews from the participating anglers.

The Grand Final will feature some of the best match anglers in the country, each one of them having earned their place after winning one of the many qualifier events that are still taking place up and down the country at some of the UK’s most premier fishing venues, enduring a range of conditions and some heavy competition to secure their place in the final on the 20th August.

Those who have qualified so far who get an opportunity to fish for the big money pot include Grant Albutt, Steve Rothery, Warren Martin, Andy Geldart, Des Shipp, Andy Power, Graham Dack, Lee Richards, Stewart Lister, John Taylor, Paul Hillier, Paul Morris, Mark Jones, Adam Wakelin and Chris Hill.

The competition is open to everyone from any background, any age and any part of the country. Current qualifiers range from students who are still at school to people with their own businesses.

To summarise, buying a ‘Match This’ ticket costing £50 entitles you to the following:
• A chance to fish for the potential £100,000 ‘Match This’ winners purse (£50,000 guaranteed) on the 20th August
• A chance to qualify for the £5,000 winner take-all runner-up final on the 20th August
• The Top 5 from every Match This qualifier automatically qualifies for the Maver UK Pole Championship on the 14th August. No entry fee will be applicable for this new event and the prize fund will be in excess of £13,000!
