Simple Match Fishing Forum

with two teams pulling out at the last minute we decided to make the summer league a individual match, so everything had to be arranged when had seen how many anglers had turned up and to my surprise we had 32 which did show me that there are anglers out there that still want to fish natural venues [perhaps not team matches] with the canal permanately pegged itdidn't take me too long to do the organising and we were soon on the bank
and what a match it turned out to be even with heavy boat traffic the top 4 were only separated by 11oz and the top 8 separated by 1lb6oz ;)everyone enjoyed a fish feast and the average weight of 5lb per angler
in first place Lee wright of Trentmen enjoyed a sheltered peg out of the sun and weighed in 8lb11oz of small perch,skimmers and roach but lee didn't have it allhis own way and a couple of lost fish could quite easialy of cost him the match

You forgot to mention the drama with 3 police on pushbikes chasing a "dangerous" 8 year old who had ran away from home!

He mumbled something about wanting somewhere to hide as he was running away to Barrow on Soar

When the police caught him he shouted i dont want to go home i want to go to jail

The canal fished its head off we would kill for a few boats on the Erewash

YA FORGOT THAT bless him he told me that so i sat him down and told him he would be better of going home and he did walk back towards you
tony mashell shouted up to me and said" is there any end to my talent your bloo#y social worker as well"
10 minutes later and all my water drunk he was off the other way 10 minutes after that three cops on mountain bikes came up the canal next thing was the lad being marched up the towpath asking why they hadn't sent the helicopter up looking for him
stan piecha said he'd told him he was going to commit suicide stan said" wait a minute i'l join you"
