A bit late TK sorry
After being 20th on reserve last year and doing 150 mile round trip to miss out by one place i was a bit :( :( So i was pleased to get it this year as it looked a very nice fishery indeed. Got there in plenty of time, had some nice egg on toast for breakfast after queing about 20 mins i drawed peg 12 on river which i was parked by after a quick look at the peg i unloaded the car. My peg was one of the end peg
Having looked at the peg i decided on 4 lines.
Line 1 & 2 far and near margin pb inter 7, 3.5 power silk straight through to a tub 808 18 hook.
Line 3 shallow banded pellet 3.5 power silk to drennan match 18 hook.
Line 4 was about 5m out this rig was 3.5 power silk straight through to tub 808 18 hook, float malman f1 4x14.
After damping the fishery's 2m pellets i mixed them with dynamite sweet fishmeal groundbait. At the start i put one big pot of the pellet & fishmeal on 5m line, and fed the near margin. First put in on the far bank margin resulted in an f1 instantly and so did the second one on pellet. The following 10 mins no bites came so i went to the 5m line for a look which resulted in 3 quick stockies again on pellet. Then i had a spell of about 5 mins with no more indications so i again fed this time through the cad pot and instantly the float went ape Only one thing to do when this happens shallow time fired some pellets over the float nothing tried again nothing Then i stuck the cad pot on tipped in the pellet & fishmeal dropped the float in and instant action fish after fish for about 25-30 mins which suddenly stopped as soon as the sun came over the tree's. The swim was now dead This lasted about 3 hours untill the sun went behind the clouds for the last hour the fish came back again it was non stop right till the all in small stockies & f1's At the wiegh in i weighed 57lb which should have been 58 as i found another f1 in the keepnet but they couldent weigh it because i'd already signed my weight A great days fishing which could have been a lot better if i'd have gone to the 5m line sooner or if it was was not so sunny And to win my section was great Also a special mention to Matt Hall who spent all day on our lake having his brains picked top bloke
