Garbolino Club Angler of the Year 2011 - 25/03/2011
The UK’s number-one individual competition for club anglers gets underway this month with qualifiers at Tunnel Barn Farm for the Midland Fish-Off on Thursday, April 7th, and Gold Valley Lakes on Thursday, April 28th for the Southern Fish-Off.
Once again the event has attracted huge interest and with 15 anglers from each of the three regional matches qualifying for the final at Barston the competition will be fiercer than ever. Garbolino’s UK Manager Darren Cox is looking forward to overseeing proceedings at each of the three rounds. “I’m delighted at the response from the clubs,” he said. “We said last year that we intended to make the competition even bigger and this year there will be some big cash prizes as well as £10,000 worth of tackle up for grabs.
“I was very impressed with the standard of the competitors last year, and the eventual winner James Cooper has gone on to secure individual sponsorship as a direct result of his achievement.” The Northern Fish-Off takes place on Thursday, May 19th at Lindholme Lakes and spectators are welcome at every match.
