Apparently chaps n chapesses Tubertini launched a new hook "the 801" designed for the pellet,. They,re are i am told an even finer wire than the 808. I,ve asked tink in the shop but they haven,t had any. As anyone seen em, if so where? :)

I have tried the 175s Si and they,re ok but i do loose a few fish on em, Image they,re a bit like the old maver eagles and have a wide gape maybe thats the reason, I,m not sure.

I,m only using an 18 pattern max in the back end and the lighter the wire the better, I have used a wide gape canal seed hook 20 pattern before now when fishin a 3 mm hooker

This is the perfect commercial stillwater silverfish hook. Made from carbon 110 wire. This hook may look fine but has the strength of hooks that are twice the diameter, excellent holding ability that will handle any unexpected big fish that comes along. Available in sizes 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18. Packet of 25 hooks.

What kind of fisherman uses a size 10 for silvers Image
Nice pattern but not sure I could trust them for carp on the pellet. Well maybe F1's but certainly not 5lb+ carp. Maybe they are as they say twice as strong at thicker diameter wire.

Wouldn,t even consider patterns bigger than an 18 for the kind of application i need em for Si. very few hook patterns are suitable for certain tasks in all sizes IMO.

On a serious note - are my carp rigs tied to too high a guage hook - a fair few beastie rings are tied to B611s and B911s

Is that why I can't catch carp :'( :'( :'(
