as a manchester united supporter first and a lover of football may i offer my sincere condolences to the family of neil young and to all manchester city supporters. i was privledge to see the city team in the late sixties and neil had the sweetest left foot i have ever seen. he was quiet and unasuming never in the referee,s face , just an all round great footballer. he will be long remembered in football circles. rest in reace neil

I was going to put a thread up after hearing the sad sad news at lunchtime. Neil Young was not only a brilliant elegant footballer from the all conquering Joe Mercer , Malcom Allison era but also a real gentleman aswell .......

He will be sadly missed ! RIP NEIL YOUNG
