Armed with with just a bit of punch and a 1/4 of caster, late entrant Golden Balls fished a tidy match to do a good 7lb odd of caster roach, justed pipped to the post by by Big Baz who did the biz with 8lb odd who included a few decent skimmers that made all the difference come the scales.

Heard of a couple of tight 6lb weigts too

Over to you guys for your take on the day......

Bullah you did about the same as iwould have done,to be fair you was in amongst some good angling company Big Baz scores again,well done mate

I was told by a respected authority ( Kev Tipton, known him years) that my peg was chub or bust, so thats how I fished, one small chub, foulhooked at that, and never another touch

You should have try,d the waggla and sprayed some maggots lol

I didnt even take a rod, or any maggots, come to that, went expecting to fish the punch and caster. To be fair, i wanted a day out, and I enjoyed it, some good convo n plenty of fresh air

I did have a wander down about 2pm, but only managed to walk the first 7 pegs and had to retire back to the car. Trust you to draw at the opposite end, couldn't make it that far for a chat

And Id been chatting to Tipo for some time before that, so must have just missed ya

I got as far as KOD - probably took me to about 2.30pm, but had to turn back

Anyway, told u I was crap

What a miserable start to the year for me...I hope thats my bad one out of the way 
I drew furthest walk (peg 20) having been told you needed to draw on the boats, which I think finished at about peg 12  Even had to persuade KOD to help me carry my gear as I had forgot my bungees and everything kept falling off the bloody trolley

I set up 3 rigs, down the track, chub rig for over ( had a few twiglets hanging over about 18" water) and a joker/punch rig.
After feeding all lines, I sat there without a touch for 4 hours  I could not believe I couldnt buy a rap anywhere. Dave Berrows came down for a chat after 3 hours and said he was in the same boat, having fed similarly to me, so I know it was no bad thing, cos if Bez cant catch, then you know its hard 
Packed in an hour from the end and stopped by KOD and Goldenballs on the way back to car. Amazingly they were all catching regularly, what a p**ser 

Having not fished that stretch for about 10 years,  it was nice to pay it another visit. Also having not seen Bez for a similar number of years it was nice to catch up again, so all in all, not a waste of time, and you always learn something for next time. Well done to the lads who did catch. Look out though, my year can only get better

No I was the one on the furthest end peg

didn't realise it was a grueller match, i thought it was a baz knock up till i saw no one catchin then realised it must be a tk grueller nice to meet a few people again and get out fishing.....

Yeah, I knew a few JTE lads back in the day, and they were no mugs

On the whole, was a pleasant day, saw some people I hadnt seen for years, and met some nice new lads too, KOD and Blues4eva to name but 2 of them

at least you didn't loose any floats mate can you imagine if bill had drawn it it would of been like a christmas tree
