there was about eight fishing that day and everyone had nets like that

Well looking at the background it looks like either the relief channel or the great ouse. It deffo looks like a fen venue or maybe I am way out !!!!

I agree it is probably the Fens with an outside chance of the Somerset Levels, my guess would be the Welland.

I'm sure the Relief Channel is wider than it looks on that pic; fished that one quite a lot yonks ago. Don't recognise the bend though.

Looks like the bend at Caythorpe but the fish don't look like Trent fish.
