Fred Latham Memorial Day 1.

Fished on the Birmingham mainline in Wolverhampton.
42 fished.
Despite horrendous conditions with gale force winds the canal fished extremely well with 9 weights over 10 pound as well as another 5 over 9lb.
Winner of the first day from peg 281 was Drennan North West star Ian Moulton with 21-0-0 made up of 3 perch to a pound, 3 small skimmers and 200+ roach.
Second was Ade Shepherd with a skimmer net of 19-9-6

Cracking bag of fish there. Well done, some very good weights to back it up on such a crap day weather wise.

Cracking bag of fish there. Well done, some very good weights to back it up on such a crap day weather wise.
How did you do Lee ?
My shoulder went after an hour and half, had 3lb and went for a walk, tried again and just couldn't fish.

Trying to hold the pole in the wind.
I pulled the muscles in my neck and strained the ligaments in my shoulder about a month ago....by the time i packed up i couldn't ship back.

Hard luck mate but what a bostin match and net of fish for Ian M - them roach certainly aint tidlers either

About 2 from last in my section mate, only fished the for the first hour and had 4lb 2oz, shame as there was a ruck of fish over there with quite a few proper fish mixed in amongst, good draw on the day but fate conspired against me!

snapped about 3 inches off the end of the female section......was the worst place it could have gone really.........was agony, watching it in slow motion as the rollor just teatered over the edge of the canal before dropping on top of it.

And then that woodhouse gave me a pole that resembled a 10 meter bamboo stick with one top kit containing 2 inch of 20 elastic!
