bill not quite right it was the st helen's canal lancs he had 12lb of roach 3lb carp to win the match i can't tell you the year as i took the picture from his book what a angler and the book is a great read

Bit of a stab in the dark really.
Just wondered what the year was he won the 'Trentman'.
I actually walked past him that day on my way to my peg; I drew next to Tony Knight, - another top river angler.
I never thought there was any pictures of Benny with his catch that day on the Trent, that was why I asked
