Sections for the 1st round on Sunday 28th November are:

‘A’ Section: The Manor (Above Little Glenn Rd Bridge)
‘B’ Section: The Manor (Westminster Drive)
‘C’ Section: County Arms
‘D’ Section: Aylestone (The Dead Arm below St Andrews FC)

8am Draw at the Choice Café, Aylestone Road, Leicester
(Breakfast from 7am)

£15 individual pools

Fish 10am to 3pm

No Bloodworm & Joker

Confirmed teams are:

6. Wigston Red

8. Rutlanders
9. Rob Scotting Select

Any team not yet paid their £20 team entry must do so on the first match.

In addition to tackle prizes for the winning overall team in the league from Middy, Wigston A.S. are also putting-up £400 in prize money.

£200 Overall League Team Winners
£100 2nd Placed League Team
£100 Top Overall League Individual


Both teams and individuals can drop their worst result – e.g. best 5 matches out of 6 count.

last year the series went on from january tothe end of march and looks like it could be the same this year

I know can't believe it 
We start the series early, to try and avoid the bad weather and now we get the snow six weeks earlier than normal.

First match has been cancelled and we will now use the reserve date of Sun 6th March.

We are still running an open on the Aylestone stretch tomorrow which is ice free. Should have between 25 and 30. Even your old mate Colly is turning out as his Winter League on the Slough Arm is off.

How come you are not on the pairs Match? You can alwys come down and give Hammo a hand lifting his nets out!!

20 brave souls fished, bit of a grueller but somebody has got to win and luckily I drew on a few.
-13 on the way and only -12 in the car park - my nostrils froze on the way to my peg Got a boot full of water when I was breaking ice in the margins at the start and my boot kept freezing to my footplate!! Mans fishing!

Unfortunatly I'm not going to be fishing the league, but am sure that when the ice clears it will be a top league

Yes it is with relief (sorry I mean regret!) that we are again cancelling Sundays match.

I can't believe our luck and how cold it is

Soooo first round will now be on Sunday 9th Jan (old round 3 date) weather permitting!!

We have also decided to cut the league to 5 matches with all 5 counting both on the team and individual stakes and using the reserve date of Sun 6th March.

In the meantime we are running two opens on the canalised river soar (it flows just!) at Aylestone.
