first time I've ever seen it was this week and fished it didn't even know it was there cheers richie although i drew well it was a nice away day from the normal rigmarole must say the pub and breakfast was superb and meeting up with all the lads again is always a pleasure including lloydy as for the venue remembering the main target are skimmers the weather probably didn't help with the cold night before and the sunshine on the day .but the weights really surprised me and i think a lot of others and what a class move fishing the otherside to the towpath
i drew peg 40 next to the walk over bridge in a turning bay
the problem was it was full of weed past 13metres the lads had cleared most of the weed from 13m back to 6 but again it was a straight line i couldn't get a line to the left or right :-/still i had a great day starting on bread at 6m and put 4 balls of G/B stuffed with dead squatt casters and bloodworm at 11m leaving me somewhere to go if it went pair shaped and left that for a couple of hours
the bread line was solid at the start and had to keep feeding to keep the fish happy
when i did move out again the fish were happy to feed with B/W and pinkie being the best bait but the sun coursed be a right problem in the last half hour as i couldn't see and by this time everyone around me caught skimmers i ended up losing a couple i even tried to get a line to the left but it was solid weed but boy how that last half hour cost me although i was catching the fish had gone small and i missed a few baites because of the sun
i weighed a straight 13lb almost knowing it was the wrong side of 13lb and how true was that 13lb 1oz 13lb 2oz 13lb 6oz 13lb 14oz 14lb and 16lb winning the match
shakespeare did have a little moan about the venue but come on its not often you can catch 13lb on a canal and only win your section
your winter league needs venues like that to keep the interest going
well done bosa
i did notice a kingfisher watching from the other bank i feel it wont be long before he wets a net again
it was nice catching up with you mate you can't beat the good old days
