I fished my local venue yesterday with my mate Pratty, "Special permission" cos its closed until march, I know you lads have fished it a couple of times. The Horns. Anyway i,ve fished one line at 13metres, pellet only and done 30lb of silvers. I only potted in 4 times and each time i chucked a straight lead with corn while a slurped a cup o tea but didnt have out, not so much as a liner. The day before their was cat ice on it and although yesterday it was ice free me thinks the thaws put a proper chill in the water. Tomorrow we,re off to the riddings. last week we fished folly pool and it was garbage even though i won it, it was bl**dy hard. Tomorrow we,re on the big pool :-/. Hopefully i,ll give me mate another stiff neck :D .

There are lots of skimmers in there mate. I was on peg 2 fishing at 13 meters with pellet and was having plenty of them.
No matter what size pellet I put on they were having it. But it was in the summer when we was there. Its a nice venue and the pegs are pristine.

Its a great venue Si but to get the best out of it i,d say 15 or 16 pegs is enough on a match particularly on a morning. Boamy,s done a great job and i love it. too me its the best mixed fishery for miles around.

I love it on a summers day looking out in the middle of the pool. All you can see is red and white shapes moving about. Ghosties and gold fish. Some of our blokes caught some gold fish and they were pretty big :D
I don't know if Tinky plans to get one of the opens down there but I will certainly suggest it to him.
No doubt Goodyear (another club we fish with) will have a match or two on there, they normally do.
The last match I fished there I was in the shallows and it was crap for me, I deffo prefer been in the deeper water on there.
Have you tried paste there. I had some nice carp on it the first time I fished there. I couldn't get a bite on anything else but they loved it.
I have also tried the pellet wag but I only had one bite on it. :(
