STAFFS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Subject to confirmation (from the pub) the Wilson's Insurance Staffs Championships sponsored Staffordshire Championships will be held on the Shropshire Union Canal, Norbury to Grubb Street on Saturday 2nd October.
The Manchester based Insurance Company sponsor both the individual and teams of four (on the day) events.
I will confirm the date ASAP

I think there is a canoe festival on that day, over a thousand taking part. I think they are starting from Norbury junction, Might be going other way though towards Staffs/Worcs.

Well, there I was at Norbury Junction early on Saturday morning in keen anticipation of seeing over one thousand canoes pass me by where we could exchange nicities.
I spotted my first canoe at 8.25am. I was shaking in case the owner took it off his lorry in the car park and thrust it with gay abandon into the canal.
THOUSANDS of canoes did enter the waterway at 6.30am but somebody had slightly miscounted the boat traffic. THOUSANDS turned out to be thirty odd. I was bitterly disappointed at seeing just one canoe all match and that was in the car park on the back of a crappity smack lorry
