Lest we forget........

I have run a couple of Nationals, next month it will be three and know about the problems they incur. They are many.

In this day and age where some match anglers think it is the right thing to do to knock any sort of organisation we all need to stop and think for a few seconds about the Div One.

Last year five clubs were involved but the ground covered (distance) was quite minmal on the three canals, ie nobody had to travel too far. In that respect it was easy to do but there are mountains of problems you guys do not see.

Yesterday's National must seem like a mountain climbed to a lot of those who deep down love match fishing and did their bit to help. It would have been a lot more difficult than any national I have ever done.

I think the match anglers owe a massive thanks to these guys, certainly not forgetting the Angling Trust for without them there would be no Nationals to fish, talk about and even take up lots of interesting space on this and many other forums.

Nobody ever gets anything cock on; we all try our very best and that is about the best one can do. Big congrats to Bob Dyer for getting the full results to the nation by 7.30pm.

Cheers lads, 3 division 1 team gold medals for Starlets in 5 years cant be bad can it ? Congratulations to all the other teams in the top ten, be a tough one at Evesham as they are all quality teams. Bit of a shame that we have to fish off to qualify for the world clubs but thats life.
Big well done to angling trust and all the organising clubs that helped as Bill says without these people then these events would be no more so thank you.

Think everyone will be at Muckno when its fish off time at Evesham ? Deffo Drennan NW and Saints will have loads in Ireland

cheers Dodge thanks for the congrats. Great day for our team, we would have taken top ten before the match, but to get so close to winning it took the shine off it for me personally. Great performances from our young guns Simon Colclough, Rob Wright (baboons wobbly cheeks) and Danny Grimsey all coming back with 60+ points. I guess we must have drawn well on the tidal as we only dropped 13 points over 4 sections!

24th showed we didn't have the best rub of the green and like i said the tidal was our down fall
i drew next to bicko at south clifton and to be fair i was a good job as he'd been up there fishing a league and knew it was a bad area and you need some luck as bicko had a 2lb chub half way through and 4 dabs
i had 4 dabs and the only reason why is because i listened to bicko on the way

i think it will be a great final just hope they can sort out the Irish trip because all the top 10 will be dangerous at evesham

i had my doubts about the fish off but it looks to have worked out well
