loughborough canal was the venue and ten teams of four every other peg was used again and the same pegs as the summer league the conditions on the day saw the strongest winds of the year .but as you know on a canal this often means sheltered pegs are the ones to draw  well i didn't Image Imagei arrived at 246 h/plant hire totally the wrong end and with the wind gusting up stream Image Imagewith a few hempheads drawing the better end i was hopping that the wind might stop them
after last week i decided  to put a chopped worm line further down my peg  and feed it quite heavily at the start as the colour of the canal was at its clearest i then put ten balls in on my G/B line which was about 10 metres the reason for this amount was fact that the bottom had a lot of weed on and i was hopping it might give me a flat spot until the fish were confident of feeding  my third line was a metre past that again 4 balls went in there and with one final a hemp line about 13metres [just in case the wind dropped ] the plan went well as and i put a quick 1lb in the net  of perch then a few over G/B LINE but it was noticeable that the wind had put the silverfish down with lots of missed bites as presentation was hard to come bye
still i end up with 4lb 11oz a good weight for the day as around me most had around the 2lb mark and it was worth 3 points which is more than i ever expected  from the area
the rest of the canal fished well and Pete Jaye's worked his magic hemp to win with 9lb followed bye john shellard 8lb 2oz on the team front i think we won it which will keep us on top of the league Image
