july is normall the holiday month in leicestershire so ourmatch calander stops for two weeks i normally run a couple of matches but would rather have a away day
barston would be nice well anywhere as long as its good

Come on Joff have a double header on the river !!!!!! Newark Saturday for a skimmers on groundbait or hemp and tares for roach !!!!!!!!!!
Then Evesham Sunday, it will not have been fished Saturday due to the regatta and should have some colour due to all the boats !!!!!!!
You know it makes sense

Dodge on the Erewash on Sunday the scalesman come down to my section and declared 'anybody beat five ounces'.

For crappity smack sake don't draw by me; your turn to get stuck up a crappity smack tree

Last saturday I fished this Erewash peg and had 2 lb, major success. On the Wednesday a chap actually died fishing the same peg, (heart attack). Does this sort of thing only happen to me?? all our lot call me 'The Jinx'.
I must be the only crappity smack to go and do a feature on a cut and there was a body in there; the section was cordoned off, - T&M Weston!
The last National on the erwash I had wait until they firked a body out of the cut. Can anyone draw unluckier than this. I am dead unlucky

choppy i've been invited to a

funny hand shake match on a new water

i don't know anything about it
its also chance to have a look at a still water for QUORN AS so its a bit of both club work and fishing
we do need a still water as the river is getting very little use

especially this season and considering how much we pay in rent it needs a serious look whether its worth it

years ago when we had a close season we'd have work parties clearing the pegs now your lucky to see peg weed growth in this heatwave has doubled and the only club booking we had couldn't find 12 pegs on the brinks

they did move to the greens and had a good day but when you consider the brinks we pay 3 different land owners for 5 fields and its not pennies

like yourself you choose to go to evesham and i can't fault that you have had a brilliant start to your season and why do you go because every peg is well looked after no one ever complains that they are too close together and every peg goe's in saturday and sunday 70 anglers can't be wrong its the way fishing has gone evesham is the biggest river matches about we are years behind here in leicestershire and will probably loose some of the best river fishing around

we had the best winter league ever last year this year i think will be a different story as you can't make a silk bag out of a old pigs ear
me i'd put it all on the canal [ perhaps its a good job i'm not running it

That's sad news mate, however here's a promise, if you retain the waters for next year I will come and carry out some work in the close season, hopefully with a few friends.
I thought Bob Dwyer was running the league this year mate or have things changed ?

well we haven't heard a thing about a AGM which we normally have at the begining of June
he also pulled out of the summer league at the last minute and his team
i like bob but he's just got too much on choppie i've spoke to him and seams really fed up and as you know his team doesn't help very much at the best of times i walked the dogs last night down the river and the only people i saw fishing were the boys with 6ft rods and a carrier bag and most of them disappeared into the country side as i walked towards them osier beds and bonsers is chock-er with weed and the lowest I've seen it for a long time the gullies look devoid of fish

under the bridge its about 12in deep

:-[again no fish behind the supports of the bridge i did see a barbel angler down there but even he said its been a poor start to the season with less barbel coming out

it breaks your heart to see the state its in lets just hope the fish have moved out of the way further down stream

its all gone lady lumps up this weekend

the lads went and had a look at the lake

its got real potential as a match lake but needs a lot of work doing to it its very weedy and clear but it could cater for 30 to 40 pegs

anyway still looking for a match sunday
