Joe Hart has every chance of becoming England's Number One for the next 10 years. The 23-year-old played 41 times for Birmingham last season and travelled to South Africa as one of the most in-form English players. He was unlucky not to feature in any matches, but it should not be too long before he adds to his current three international caps


GLEN JOHNSON
This is a tough call as Micah Richards will be pushing Johnson all the way for the number two jersey. I'll add Richards to the squad, but give Johnson the starting spot. In 2014 Johnson will be 29 years old giving him a much more experienced head on his shoulders. It's easy for Johnson to be blamed for England's defensive failings against Germany, but he was drawn out of position to cover the horror show in the centre of England's back four. If he can retain his pace and learn more defensively he'll be a huge asset to the 2014 team

DAWSON
Dawson was called into the World Cup squad after the injury to Rio Ferdinand and after his consistently high level of performance for Tottenham throughout the season he was very unlucky not to make the initial 23. If he can maintain the standards he has shown this season he will become England's rock in the centre of defence and I'll make him vice-captain for the 2014 tournament

CAHILL
Cahill is a defender who some thought could have been a shock inclusion in Fabio Capello's South Africa squad, but an injury at the end of January was probably what robbed him of the chance to travel. He is a composed defender who currently plays for Bolton but has attracted the attention of several of the league's bigger clubs. Cahill just edges out Chris Smalling based on what he has already shown and he will be 28 years old in 2014, I've added Smalling to the squad

GIBBS
Gibbs is a quality left-back currently pushing for a place in Arsenal's starting XI. In 2014 Ashley Cole will be 33 and as such I've decided to discount him from this squad. Gibbs is the likely successor to Cole's number three jersey and given some of allegations aimed at Cole following England's exit from the World Cup that shirt could be up for grabs sooner rather than later
RODWELL
Rodwell turned down the chance to join Manchester United, electing instead to stay with Everton. He can play at both centre-back and in the holding midfield role and that flexibility will prove handy for England in Brazil. I've opted to pop him into the defensive midfield role as I believe this is the position he will grow into over the next four years

WALCOTT
After the initial disappointment of not making Capello's final squad Walcott will hopefully take that as a warning shot and concentrate on realising his potential with Arsenal. If anyone can help him do that it will be Arsene Wenger. By the time 2014 comes round Walcott should be looked at as one of England's most consistent and exciting performers. He will also have the ability to sit in the second striker role behind Wayne Rooney
JACK WILSHERE
Having been loaned out to Bolton last season Wilshere made 13 appearances in the league and he should continue to build on that number year-on-year. Widely regarded as one of England's brightest prospect it should only become a matter of time before he is an England regular.

ADAM JOHNSON

In this writer's opinion Johnson should have travelled to South Africa as part of Capello's squad. After joining Manchester City in the 2009 January transfer window Johnson slotted into Premier League life immediately. He looks to have bags of ability and confidence and that attitude was certainly missing from many of England's players in South Africa. Johnson will be a part of the England side soon and will be a young but experienced part of the 2014 team

DIANIEL STURRIDGE
This is possibly the most difficult position to fill in the 2014 team. Steven Gerrard will be 34 at the next World Cup and will probably go with the squad to Brazil but in the spirit of going with youth, I'll put Gerrard on the subs' bench and bring Sturridge into the starting line-up. Sturridge has masses of talent and if he can become a regular in Chelsea's side he will be able to learn a huge amount about playing just behind the main striker. His place in this team depends on his ability to break into the Chelsea first-team.

WAYNE ROONEY
It is easy to dismiss Rooney after his disappointing performances in South Africa, but he is simply too good to leave out of the team. Portugal will stick with Ronaldo and Argentina will stick with Messi despite their showing in South Africa and England must do the same with Rooney. He will learn from this tournament and continue to grow with Manchester United, he will be 28 when Brazil comes around and therefore should be at his peak, a frightening thought given his performances this season before his late ankle injury. He'll be the captain of this team

Obviously being a successful World Cup team means having a strong squad and competition for every place in the team. Here's a look at some other players who could go to Brazil in 2014 as part of the England squad.

Daniel Sturridge ...... Another Man City reject    would be ok at Leicester City      

Chris Smalling ..... Useless center half who has joined Man Utd

What we will get next?

Answer. Half (if not more) of the Ghana team playing in our League.

Good players, paid crappity smack all, easy targets. They may not get in the Premiership but it will all have a domino effect, ----- as it is now.

In the build up to the World Cup we can't help but get excited about who will set the tournament alight, but now we are in the latter stages so who has failed to deliver?
This is not just about who has been the worst players, that would simply mean picking a combination of North Korea, Honduras, Nigeria and Greece. It's more a look at which players flopped, who went into the tournament full of promise and left with their head bowed.

As you would expect there are certain teams who dominate this side, and I'm sure few of you would have disagreed if the entire England team were used to make up the flops XI. But I've tried to look beyond England to find those who have truly flopped.
