Clues, no pegs to be seen.
The bridge obviously ain't a road bridge.
Strong flow, probably shallow.
Don't even look lie a path or walkway by the river.
It looks like some sort of trout river but crappity smack knows where.

It looks like parts of the Upper Trent but I'll try the River Tean, trout and grayling. Unless it's an old pic of the Dove, could be the Cherwell.

I said the Trent because the faster bits around Barlaston have that wire stuff on the banks to stop them eroding. The more I look at it the more I think it is the top end of the Trent but I don't recognise the bridge at all.

Looking at the bridge, I reckon it's somewhere around The Peak District.
Is it the Dove Tony?

Mugger I thought it could have been the Dove but changed my mind because of the bridge. I know most of the Dove but can never recall seeing that bridge although it is grey stone which points to Derbyshire.
With all the clues I think it one of those rivers in that area that not many have heard of.
I think I know which one it is now because I have been racking the old grey matter and looking at maps.
I think it is the one that dries up from time to time and quite a chunk of it actually flows underground, when there is water in it. If it is the one I am thinking of it is a real toughie

With what you've added Bill, it may be the one that joins the Dove and starts with M and ends with D.
Or it could be a TK wild goose chase of course.

I cheated; I got a map out.
Never fished the Manifold but have fished lots of the Dove in my time.
I don't even know if there is any coarse fish in the Manifold; there are trout
