Never personally fished this section of the river, although I have looked at it standing over that walkover bridge in the distance.......

Tis the T at TG and just next to it is the Lake that we use to fish years ago (20 plus) when it was a very good bream, skimmer and roach venue, often waiting lists to get on !!

Good call that Dodge especially as you are in my territory; you mean the River Penk around Acton/Penkridge. Image

By the way, your are near but the cigars stay in the box Image Image Image Image

The river there used to run a 'purple colour' and was heavily polluted, it stunk crappity smack terrible, worse than a box full of skinned burst maggots Image. Mill Meece also used to run through the Gardens, that had the odd fish or two in it Image

Stafford Rivers.

The River Trent and Mill Meece are at Trentham.
The River Trent runs through Stone, Weston, and Haywood than crappity smack off east.
The River Sow is near Eccleshall and comes into Stafford, goes through the town, across the fields at Walton and Milford before joining the Trent at Haywood.
The River Penk is the one by the M6 at Acton and Penkridge. The Penk is the one that runs alongside the cut at Radford, Stafford and at the back of the canal at Farmdown Road.

The Sow can be good for roach in the winter, otherwise stalking for chub. Barbel over 11 lb have come from it; pockets of bream - big crappity smack.
The Trent got polluted to crappity smack but they do still catch at Shugborough way.
The Penk is very shallow, roving for chub but you can catch roach and stuff in the winter.

crappity smack good job we've only three canals Image Image Image Image

I think you are thinking of the Trent. It does get a bit complicated in that area.

The Sow joins the Trent just above Hunts Mill at Great Haywood. Milford is actually above that but some people still call it (me included) 'Milford Hills' that is actually also below that point, (most call it part of Cannock Chase nowadays). The Sow runs through Milford and part of Shugborough. Shugborough Fishing Club control the River Trent and the T&M at Great/Little Haywood which is part of the Shugborough Estate. It is a bit compicated in that area!!!!!! Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image
