Humungous amounts of dust laden cloud was spotted bellowing over Eastlands, Manchester yesterday.

Cars and lorries screeched to a halt, aeroplanes were brought down, the locals were all wearing masks and carrying oxygen tanks.

The whole of the Manchester switchboards were inundated and eventually jammed with calls asking if it was the dreaded volanic ash.

Later on it transpired that the cleaners were giving the trophy cabinet the once over
