Good question Tk
I think its down to confidence in what your using,I for one have never been able to keep the fish coming for the duration of the match when using punch..... Obi said that he struggled after the first hr and half, but he'd already done the damage with the skimmers he'd caught. Image

Normally when the fish turn up on your joker lines you can catch for duration by alternating them (unless your fishing a grueller)then you cant catch of any. Image

So it looks like i'll be funding them pols and Russians next yr aswel   Image

Bearing in mind the top 3 in the league fished joker  Image

Got to admit........that was the hardest Image grueller series I've ever fished

Usually scratting out a lb or two of bits was classed as a grueller :o if anybody have managed that over the 5 matches this winter theyd have walked it

Obi said that he struggled after the first hr and half, but he'd already done the damage with the skimmers he'd caught. Smiley
i usually struggle in the 1st hour and half as well Image Image Image

joking apart this winter has been so hard biting that i think that it didnt really matter whaat you used, you were either on them or not, just a matter of feet made all the difference even pleasure fishing this winter i have struggled to keep em going for much more than 1 1/2 half but like i said considering the conditions thats not to bad ,plus apart from mick g,s fish on sat ,the punch fish were a much better stamp Image (in the 3 matches i fished)

bring on next winter lets all try again Image Image

One word to sum up the last match on the common is 'grueller' in every sense of the word. Even having to avoid the dog terd with my trolley.
