Lee chase water is being drained. I asked tk in another post if he knew what the ea were doing about the fish. He never replied so i expect he didn't know.

Basicly the dam wall at chase water is in such a bad state of repair its leaking like mad. There is a massive fear that the wall is going to burst and flood the houses on the estate below. Theres a big argument going on as chase water is split and in both staffordshire council and lichfeild council. Neither council can afford to pay for the repairs of the dam wall and as they can't afford to risk the wall bursting they have drained it. For some reason the EA don't seem to be involved in the debate at the mo. The story as been covered on central news last week.

Havent heard owt ME - tbh didnt expect anyone to 'move' them anywhere, just expected the water levels to be dropped and the fish to move to the remaining deeper sections

A major meeting of the powers that are involved was held recently and a public anouncement is imminent. It could have a dramatic effect on the whole of the BCN as well as the lake itself. It is the main water supply for the whole of the BCN apart from some water pumped from the old mines in Bradley. As soon as I know any thing official, I will post on here. As far as I know, any reports of fish deaths at the moment are unconfirmed.
