Simple Match Fishing Forum

Fished with Goodyears today on Greenways res. Gem was with me for luck  
I drew peg 5. The water was down nearly 2 foot so I decided to fish in the water.



I decided to fish 5 meters on the pellet. I also set up the feeder and a shallow rig.
Shallow didn't work today as the water was very clear. I started on the 5 meter line with a 6mm soft expander and was having roach and rudd from the off. But after about 20 mins they backed off and I couldn't be arsed chasing them into the deeper water  
I stuck it out for another 20 mins and had 1 small carp too. Time for the feeder.
Top secret ground-bait mix  :o in a drennan grip-mesh feeder with double hair rigged corn. First cast, a Rudd took it on the drop. Second cast, same again. Third cast a small tench. I was after the carp so I decided to try something else..... 11mm Hair rigged pellet   in October  
The carp loved them and I wasn't getting plagued with the smaller fish. I did have a nice roach which was about 1lb along with my scale perfect carp.
I finished up with 51lb 7oz and only my second win this year

Yes I was the only one fishing. All them other names are all just made up. The pictures are of straw dummies me and Gem made up. Its the only way I could win
