Ok, i am gonna go off on one here ::) ::)

It seems that loads of commies are still iced up and are unable to put matches on over chrimbo / new year ...... yepp the weather has been severe but what a joke hardly any commies are fishable and thousands of match anglers up and down the country are looking for a decent match during the holidays. Whatever happened to aereators and taking a boat out for a quick spin ?

What a crap state of affairs Image Image Image

Totally agree Dodge.Considering Commercial Fisheries are supposed to offer comfortable, convenient fishing,it does seem pretty poor that with everything being "on site" they can't keep at least parts of there pools ice free and fishable.

Simple answer; lots of commercials will not let you break the ice; some have been closed throughout the holiday.

The general concesus of opinion, by the boffins, is that the breaking of ice can (not saying it does) harm fish stocks.

Tunnel Barn's the only one I know round here thats worth breaking the ice for a good day. On Bank Hol Monday there were TWO small opens (dont ask) and two or three clubs/groups fishing elsewhere on the complex which was a good turnout IMO. Every lake frozen but everyone was prepared to smash to catch. Some were still catching despite breaking just 4m out! I had 30-40 odd fish for 13lb. Not a big weight but enjoyable and thankfully dragged me away from the Mario Bros Wii game I bought the wife! :D

John at Blundells has broke the ice everyday with his boat as he doesnt have aereators so fair play to him, once the wind got onto the water the rest of pools started to melt quickly ..... common sense really !

Other owners up here have done sweet FA and the ice just got thicker and thicker !!! = no revenue !

Granted the fishing is hard but someone has to win blah blah and everyone i know is up for a few bites even with the extreme cold weather. What a crappity smack shambles !

Like lee has said i havent seen one commie angler prepared to break any ice with the exception of Keiron Rich last sunday at blundells ;)

Im sick of going shopping with the missus Image Image Image Image Image

I have fished every Saturday, (exc. Boxing Day) and Sunday plus some midweek sessions and there has been no ice at all where I have been going. We ain't really broke any records but winning weights have been 8 lb odd, 9 lb odd, 6 lb odd and 10 lb odd, - all roach catches. Only occasionally there has been a struggler but only one 'dry' in those Shroppie match. Also fished one on the T&M, 4 lb odd won (gudgeon) but that was a bit tough (no dries though).
Four of us went pleasure fishing on Tuesday, it was a roach every put in, good stampers some of them as well. KH went on Boxing Day on the 'aques' he said there was a bit of ice about that day but nothing you could'nt fish through; he caught 50 odd fish.

Now't wrong with that except I've got a ferking cold coming on. Image
