6th in the Premiership and only lost 2 matches. Very Harsh, one can't help feeling that there are some unrealistic expectations at the City of Manchester Stadium.
Commenting on the appointment of Mancini, chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: "Roberto is a hugely experienced manager with a proven track record of winning trophies and championships. His experience and track record speak for themselves.
3 Championships ( 2 of which were awarded to Inter following the 2006 Italian football scandal) and 2/3 Italian Cups (which have little significance even in Italy) Inter weren't impressed enough to hang onto him, and he's been out of work since they sacked him.
There'll probably be another influx of players in January who will take yet more time to gel leading to a finish outside the top 4. Mind you, I'm sure they'll enjoy playing in The Europa Cup next year.

Peter this just goes to show what people were saying when the arabs took over that they wanted Man City but didn't realy want Hughes as manager

feel for the city fans ( did i just write that must be the pills again) there a bit like liverpool want to come to the party but arent quite dressed yet. it will take time under a settled manager 5 years minimum and this fly by night isnt the one. hughes had vision building a team takes time he proved that at blackburn. with united in decline because of the yanks we could be about to see a change in the premiership, i though it would be city but now i see villa and spurs as the main contenders to chelsea next year. i start every year with the words " i dont care who wins the league as long as its not liverpool" so i hope for that sake alone city get there act together.

Yepp thats another journo,s spin on the situation Mugger
Its "Old Hat" to be honest mate ...... the Manchester Evening News is always the first with "real news " regarding what is and what is not happening at Man City ! their cheif sports editor Peter Spencer is the envy of the tabloid footballing bullshit brigade.
Realistically 70 pts this season could be enough for 3rd place in the premiership ...... everyone is dropping points, no team is playing consistently well and things change very very quickly if you win 3 or 4 games on the bounce. Surely this season is the best premiership in a long long time ? no team walking away with it, both Man Utd and Liverpool (American Owners) both are massively in debt and are in decline, Arsenals wafer thin squad has huge injury problems, Totenham are hit and miss and imo will fall away, Villa are one dimensional and have been very lucky lately but are difficult to beat for sure...... then there is Man City .....
Gary Cook has took loads of stick for over 12 months off City fans ..... we aint daft up here (lol) Mancunians do like to be heard and rightly or wrongly do just that ! Possibly that is the reason why the press conference went t!ts up ?
In the cold light of day under Mark Hughes City have fell short and our defence is a total shambles , that is down to Hughes and his tactics ...... too many points were / are being dropped. Mark Hughes and his staff did a good job, yes he has been treated very badly but so have plenty of other managers across the world (Scolari at Chelsea) ...... life goes on and Manchester City FC is bigger than any single person, Hughes won the first 4 games of the season which saved his job then, we all thought and were led to believe Guus Hiddink was in line to take over. Khaldoun and his Abu Dhabi royal family mean buisness good and proper and want M.C.F.C to be one of the biggest clubs in the world, never mind England, yepp Cook is another Kenyon and he will live or die by his actions.
Roberto Mancini ....... time will tell and 3 points on boxing day will be a good start
